Goals: 2017

January 1, 2017

2016 has come to its end. And to be completely honest, I felt melancholic hearing firecrackers and seeing fireworks as they made their show in the sky just when the clock hit 12:00. 2016 has been a great year for me and I don't feel like saying goodbye to it just yet. It was in 2016 when I graduated college, became an engineer, and acquired substantial amount of experience life has to offer.

Though it may not sound like it, I am welcoming 2017 with open arms and will be counting to it for hosting more book-worthy events and experiences. Meanwhile, here are the goals I've set for this yet another exciting year that is waiting to unfold.

  1. Travel. 'Cause why not? Now that I finally accomplished my bachelor's degree and will be starting a career, might as well do the very first thing that I really want to do since who knows how long. I've been wanting to visit every corner of the Philippines as a start then gradually visit neighboring countries.
  2. Create a solid foundation for my career. Before 2016 ended, I received an extra gift. After so many trials, I was technically hired. Just few more paper works then baaam - a working woman. All I am praying is to have a good working environment and condition. I may not be hired (yet) by my dream company, I am taking this as a head start and gain all the essential experience I need.
  3. Wardrobe shift. Though I am not rushing this, my family members are putting great pressure on me to minimize wearing pair of jeans and start wearing skirts, which they claim look good on me. This year, maybe I'll give it a try to get out of my comfort zone.
  4. Be better in taking photographs. Maybe now's the time to take photography seriously. Not that I am planning to make a career out of it but I just want to improve what skills I currently have. Please give me some tips! Haha.
  5. Invest. I see this one lone word in a huge perspective. I hope that this year will be the year that I'll be able to tick off most of the items in my list. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I am one of the 95% of Filipino people who strongly believe that 2017 will be a great year. And what I mean by great is not only having those 'up' moments but also those 'downs' as well that in the end will make us a better person. Yes? Cheers to 2017!

What are your goals for this year? Let me know bits and pieces!

All the love,
Xeph.

  4. I badly want to travel this year, but I know it'll be a little tough due to tight scheduuule but still crossing my fingers hehe. What province are you most excited to go to? :D

Improve in taking photos is also on my goals this 2017. I seriously want to utilize the wonders of iPhone since I can't afford a dslr right now. Let's do this, ate Xeph! I've been reading some article over the net on how to take good photos, they are helpful, I think! :D

OMG wardrobe change!! Go, gurl. It's not bad to deviate from the usual. Goodluck, ate! :D

I hope you achieve these goals little by little <3

    1. I hope time will be your friend this year, then! Hihi. I am really looking forward to going to Vigan, Subic in Sorsogon, San Juan in La Union, just to name a few. But anywhere in the Philippines will do, actually!

Those articles and tips are beyond helpful! I am a student of them, too. Though sometimes, I do a little experimentation on my own. Way to go!

Don't expect too much about my wardrobe change! Hahaha. I don't know if I can abandon pants and shirts easily.

Thank you so much for reading Abby!

  8. Good luck in achieving your goals! I hope we all get to reach those little by little. And congrats on getting a job! It is not that easy to get one these days so we should all be thankful that we are working and earning. It may not be the dream company yet but slowly, you'll get there. Happy New Year and may you be blessed more this year. :)

I've been through job hunting for two months. I thought that if I'll already have my engineer license, getting a job would be easy. But it wasn't! So getting one is really a big blessing to start this year. Happy New Year!

  17. Happy New Year Xeph! Yeees to wardrobe change, travelling, and learning photography this year. 18. Good luck on your goals, Ate Xeph! As for me, I've already ticked something off my 2017 goals and that's to learn how to do calligraphy. My classmate and I were at a store and I saw a water brush. Then, I just decided to buy size number 2 and a set of water colors. Even though, I didn't really have plans to purchase materials this month and it was obviously an impulsive act, I'm still happy!
